2. A general history. Choose from the History of Freemasonry shelf — begin broad, then go national.
3. A symbolism classic. The General shelf holds the standard introductions to the emblems and their readings.
4. One research paper. Sample the Academic Papers — research-lodge transactions show the Craft examining itself honestly.
5. A journal year. Pick an 1880s volume on the Journals shelf and read the lodge world as it reported itself.
6. With music. Re-read your ritual with the matching ceremony music playing — the texts were written to be walked and sung.
