Traditional Masonic Music
Music as ritual: opening and closing music, installation ceremonies and the songs of the festive board.
Music has accompanied lodge work since the eighteenth century — Mozart and Haydn wrote for their own lodges, Sibelius composed a complete ritual cycle, and every Masonic nation developed its table songs. Our Audio Streaming Center preserves a complete working repertoire: 143 pieces arranged for the actual ceremonies, from the first knock to the parting toast.
Opening Music
Processional and opening cues set the lodge’s tone — measured, expectant. Hear them in Degree Labor (officers’ entrance, opening odes) and the grand entrances of Grand Master & Grand Officers.
Closing Music
Closing music returns the brethren gently to the world — reflective pieces for the final perambulations and parting ode, found at the end of each ceremony set in the collection.
Installation Ceremonies
The year’s great day, with music to match: see WM Installation, Officers’ Installation, and the consecration sets for new lodges and new temples.
Festive Board Music
After labour, refreshment: celebratory pieces for marriage celebrations and the Sisters’ open meetings (three variants), and the solemn balance of the mourning lodge.
